Upgrading from macOS Catalina 10.15 or Mojave 10.14?

Go to Software Update in System Preferences to find macOS Big Sur. Click Upgrade Now and follow the onscreen instructions.

Upgrading from an older version of macOS?

If you’re running any release from macOS 10.13 to 10.9, you can upgrade to macOS Big Sur from the App Store. If you’re running Mountain Lion 10.8, you will need to upgrade to El Capitan 10.11 first.

If you don’t have broadband access, you can upgrade your Mac at any Apple Store.

There are various methods in sandboxing a Microsoft Windows System, the restore point method is useful for testing malwares and new softwares, the reboot to restore feature is useful for public computers in libraries, universities, schools, cybercafes and more, simply reboot to restore Windows to the configuration you setup. Always remember to login as admin and perform updates to Microsoft Windows and other softwares.

Every Windows since Windows 7 comes with a ‘Restore Point’, however, I find it not reliable, more often than not, it fails to restore to the previous point. I have yet to test the reliability on Windows 10. Just search for Create Restore Point in the search bar for this feature. Rollback software is ideal for hotels, cybercafes, school or those where the computer is made available for public use and will automatically reset to the original settings after a restart. Sandboxing is more for programmers or hackers to test their tools without damaging their system.
